Local Travel Agents? [Jul. 18th, 2009|10:54 pm]

austincommunity

[maisquared]
I looked in the tags but only found one thing related, but I'm looking for a travel agent who can help me apply for a work & holiday visa for my trip to Australia. I don't have that much time (2 months) and so I don't even know if it is possible. I went online to look at the process and apply online but it is really confusing so I need help with it since deadline is approaching.

What are some tracks that are open to the public 24 hrs? I'm in town, and I don't know where to run. I prefer more to run on tracks than on sidewalks etc

drycleaner - near downtown/south [Jul. 18th, 2009|10:54 am]

austincommunity

[readylettucego]
best drycleaner/laundry service near downtown/south austin? doesn't need to be super quick turn around time, prefer if they do the service there vs shipping it off and a place that isn't using super harsh chemicals.

I just found Westbank Dry Cleaning. any experience with them?

Hey Austin!

I am 22weeks pregnant and I was wondering where the young moms/soon to be moms meet up or hang out.

Anyway if there isn't a group I would love to start one, I am home during the day and I would love to know others in the same boat.

I am 25 and married... so yeah anyway let me know where you are. :)

Marla Camp of Edible Austin at Texas French Bread, Tuesday. 7/21 [Jul. 17th, 2009|05:05 pm]

austincommunity

[spottylogic]

Join The Front Porch Project as we meet Marla Camp, editor and publisher of edibleAustin, in an evening of conversation and fine local food.

Texas French Bread will provide a delicious farm-to-table dinner spread for this event. Our "Tuesday on the Porch" dinner with Marla is a part of our summer gearing-up for the premier of Fresh: The Movie.

Dinner begins at 6:00, Tuesday, July 21. The Farm-to-Table dinner from TFB will cost $25. Texas French Bread is located on the corner of 29th and Rio Grande, just north of the University of Texas. (If the $25 is a bit too steep, you're more than welcome to join us for the conversation, words are cheap!)

Check our News Blog for more information about this event!

ITs all very exciting.

I know it isn't shut up about it already. STOP JUDGING ME MOM!

back to the subject at hand, what are YOU doing this weekend?

What does Austin have to offer someone who doesn't know where to go/whom to see/what to buy this weekend?

Let us know!

Biofeedback [Jul. 17th, 2009|10:17 am]

austincommunity

[candyce]
I see an electrophysiologist specializing in autonomic nervous system disorders in Dallas... because to my knowledge there isn't really one in Austin. At my last appt he told me he's having a lot of success recently working in conjunction with a physical therapist that has the same disorder I do but is able to control it with a specific exercise regimen, and another doctor in Dallas that does biofeedback. I'm going back to Dallas to see this physical therapist, but there are really only so many appt's I can schedule in Dallas seeing as how I live and WORK in Austin. Does anyone have any good experience with a local biofeedback person? I would prefer a doctor if possible, one because I have an actual medical issue, and two because then my insurance might cover it. But I would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

Anyone got a lawyer recommendation? [Jul. 17th, 2009|08:35 am]

austincommunity

[graphicnovelist]
My friend Em needs to file suit against her insurance company to extend a car-accident case beyond the two year limit and sadly has no lawyer. And apparently it needs to be done today.

Anyone know a lawyer that they'd recommend who could help with this?
